OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ron has lived in Wilmington for the past eight years with his wife Marilyn. They have two grown children and four grandchildren. Ron was born in Asheville, NC but he was raised in the US Army. After graduating high school in 1967 Ron joined the US Navy. He is a Vietnam veteran, having served in the US Naval Air and reserves for 20 years. Ron is retired from the military. He graduated from Regent University with an MA in Communications, working for Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and then the US Dept. of Agriculture as a videographer/ tv editor. Ron has served as an Elder at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church and volunteers weekly as a jail minister at the New Hanover County jail. He loves Jesus, his family, people and the USA. Ron has a desire for the Church body to be unified and Wilmington to be even a friendlier place...and it will be with plenty of Street Angel volunteers!
Robert (Bob) Glasgow is a native of Southern California. He graduated from UNLV and did his Masters in Education at USC. Bob was drafted into the US Army in 1965, graduated from OCS in 1967. Bob served in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces as a Captain. Upon his return to Ft. Bragg, NC, in 1969 he met his wife Nancy and after a four month courtship, they were married. They have three grown children and three grandchildren. After 22 years of service, Bob retired in 1988 from the Joint Special Operations Center. They moved to Wilmington in 1990 and in 1994 he started working for New Hanover County and retired in 2008 at age 65. In 2011 he helped start a very successful Celebrate Recovery Group at Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He has been a discipleship leader and currently conducts a monthly morning service at Lake Shore Commons Retirement Center. He was a church Deacon for four years and is in his second year as an Elder. Bob’s walk with the Lord has allowed him to see good in everyone he meets, even though many don’t feel that way initially but they do after they learn about Jesus and his almighty father our God. It is his hope and dream to help those that are struggling with their life to find comfort and peace as they learn to embrace our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Deborah Blanchard was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lear Siegler Institute (LSI) in 1970 with an associates degree in computer science. She met her husband Michael who is a native of Wilmington, NC at LSI. They were married in 1972 and have three grown children with nine grandchildren. Shortly after marriage she had an encounter with Jesus and was never the same again. She entered the workforce as a data entry clerk and continued to pursue a programming profession. In 1982 they moved to Wilmington where she worked for Pepsi Corporation for 6 years. In 1990 she became a computer consultant In the Wilmington area. Later in 1994, she was hired by Reeds Jewelers where she developed software for the next 14 years. In 2010 she started her own software corporation which is still active today. During these years her commitment to Jesus has remained strong. Currently she is semi-retired and teaches Sunday school for 4 & 5 year olds as she continues to trust the Lord to lead her in whatever direction He has for her.
Deanne Miller moved to Wilmington in June of 2016 and is originally from Clarksburg, West Virginia. She graduated from Fairmont State University with a double major in business and marketing. She has two grown sons and two grandchildren. It was after the birth of her first son that she realized there must be a God and asked Him into her life. Deanne has been an insurance agent with Aflac since June of 2002 and has worked and held licenses in the states of West Virginia, Texas and Pennsylvania. After moving to Wilmington, she was involved with Joel 2 Missions. It is a ministry to help victims and survivors of domestic violence and other abuses. Then the ministry moved to Pennsylvania in the fall of 2017. Deanne attends Global River Church. Deanne has worked with several ministries throughout her life but found herself asking the Lord what's next? That is where the ministry of Street Angels comes into play. Deanne was introduced to the Street Angels ministry when Paul Blakey visited One Christian Network, a Christian networking group, here in Wilmington. Stirred by the Holy Spirit with confirmations from the Street Angels Team, Deanne is the Project Manager of the Wilmington Street Angels. She works with scheduling volunteers and promoting Street Angels in Wilmington.
